Is Emma Stone the New Cruella de Vil?
It’s not exactly fun-times but it will be incredibly interesting to see how Cruella de Vil became the villainous she-monster that we met as children.

For the uninitiated, Cruella is evil incarnate as her song so aptly indicates.
De Vil is the villain, who was obsessed with capturing the dalmatians in the 1961 animated classic, intent on having their hides.
Emma Stone is in talks to star in Disney’s “Cruella de Vil”, a new spin on the classic Disney villain. Glenn Close played her in the 1996 live-action film produced by John Hughes, in which the character was updated to be the head of a fashion house. Hopefully this origin story will hint at what in the world makes murdering dogs so appealing to her, because that definitely needs some convincing context. Kelly Marcel (“Fifty Shades of Grey”, “Saving Mr. Banks”) is penning the film’s script, and though there’s no director attached to it yet, Disney is reportedly hoping to begin shooting this year.

This is just one of the many live-action films that Disney has in the works, including “Dumbo” with Tim Burton, a “Mulan” film, a new “Alice in Wonderland” and of course “Beauty and the Beast” with Emma Watson.
