Is Jamie Vardy the best striker in the Premier League?
Vardy’s goal took him to 14 in as many games in the top flight so far this season and was the first conceded by United goalkeeper David de Gea in open play in 545 minutes.

By netting for the 11th consecutive Premier League match, Vardy surpassed the previous best mark of 10 set by United great Ruud van Nistelrooy.
Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo is interested in Vardy, while United boss Van Gaal is also keen on signing the player who is formerly of FC Halifax Town and Fleetwood Town.
Asked what it was like to set a new Premier League record, Vardy said: “It is an unbelievable feeling”.
Schmeichel told Sky Sports, “I don’t think he would fit in”. It’s great for the club and he is a great manager. “I think it’s common knowledge now that I’m getting an injury every week”, said Vardy, who has been wearing a cast since breaking two bones in his right wrist in October.
“I am disappointed”, said United manager Louis van Gaal.
Such a brilliant run of form has unsurprisingly seen Vardy grab the interest from a host of top clubs and recent reports had claimed that Manchester United are eyeing a move for the Leicester star in an attempt to bolster their attacking lineup during the January transfer window.
Vardy knows there are other talented players out there who just haven’t gotten a shot, so he launched the V9 Academy this month, a week-long camp that provides guidance and a showcase to 60 non-league and part-time players in England.
In the third or fourth phase we have to create more, but it is hard because you have seen where Leicester City stand on the pitch – it was in the 60 metre area.
But Vardy said: “I just have my eyes on helping Leicester get three points at the weekend”. “To win the match and try to help Vardy break the record”.
“I could not play with them”.
Let’s face it, you couldn’t write it. But history was written when he scored to take the record outright, although he is still one off Jimmy Dunne’s all-time “top-flight” record of 12 games. If someone else gets the winning goal and three points then I am more than happy.

“I’m sure it will pop up on my Twitter feed when I look at my phone (on Sunday) because I don’t really want to today, it will just be going off and off and off”.
