Cruz tried to link arms with Republicans at the party’s national convention Wednesday but was booed lustily by delegates when he ended his speech without offering Trump his endorsement or even saying he would vote for the NY billionaire. Ted Cruz took the stage and refused to endorse her father.

“And that pledge was not a blanket commitment that, if you go and slander and attack Heidi, that I’m going to nonetheless come like a servile puppy dog and say thank you very much for maligning my wife and my father”, he added.
Cruz told a meeting of the Texas delegation Thursday morning that he told Trump that he would not endorse him and that Trump and his campaign knew about the contents of Cruz’s speech in advance.
After a rough few days of the GOP convention, Donald Trump, the official Republican Presidential nominee, pledged to cheering Republicans that as president he will restore the safety they fear they’re losing, strictly curb immigration and save the nation from Hillary Clinton’s record of “death, destruction, terrorism and weakness”.
Trump, an inveterate tweeter, took to social media after Cruz’s convention speech.
Cruz said he couldn’t endorse a man who has attacked him personally. “I have to tell you, I think Heidi Cruz is a great person”. House Speaker Paul Ryan said in his convention speech: “What do you say that we unify this party at this crucial moment when unity is everything?”
Immediately ahead of the speech, Trump’s daughter Ivanka spoke about her father’s personal qualities and compassion. Trump said Cruz “never denied that it was his father”, and that if it were The New York Times that reported the story, they would have received a Pulitzer Prize.
Donald Trump accepted the Republican nomination for president Thursday night, crafting an image of a damaged country while proclaiming to the masses that “I am your voice” and promising that the US will be first again. Donald Trump did that toward the end of the presidential primary campaign, questioning whether the elder Cruz had ties to John Kennedy’s assassination.

“Oh my gosh, that’s the only thing I wish I had been in the hall for”, the conservative pundit said. Mike Lee of Utah was front-and-center declaring things like, “This is surreal” and “I have no idea what’s going on right now”. “That’s why I can fix it”. But Trump did not pull the plug (and his presence on the floor had delegates wondering if the Trump campaign had set Cruz up for the public rejection).
