Clooney was in NY at the UN General Assembly when a reporter from CNN asked him if he’d like to comment on Angelina’s decision to file for divorce.

TMZ first reported the news on Tuesday with the actress is asking for physical custody of the couple’s six children.
As of now, People is reporting the couple has only been separated since September 15 and that the divorce has come as a surprise to everyone.
The actor said he was “very saddened” about their split, 12 years after they first started dating. They were married in 2014 – two years after getting engaged.
Romper has reached out to both Jolie’s and Pitt’s reps for comment about their separation and has not yet heard back.
They famously became acquainted while playing married assassins in Doug Liman’s 2005 action comedy “Mr. and Mrs. Smith”.
This is the second marriage for Pitt, 52, who previously Wednesday Jennifer Aniston. It’s the third for Jolie, who was previously married to Billy Bob Thornton and Jonny Lee Miller.
Of the film – which was inspired by real wartime stories – producer Graham King told PEOPLE, “Brad and Marion immediately had the utmost respect for each other, so once they delved into their characters, their chemistry was electric”. They have three biological children, and sons adopted from Cambodia and Vietnam and a daughter adopted from Ethiopia.
