Is there a conspiracy to help Peyton Manning win the Super Bowl ?
This is Peyton Manning’s moment. Remove that play, and the tailback’s average drops to 2.7 yards per attempt.

A win on Sunday would put him and his teammates in the Super Bowl for the second time in three seasons. It’s not going to be a blowout by it will be close. Much like Tom Brady did in his first Super Bowl, Manning just needs to manage the game and play mistake free, while the Denver defense tries to limit Tom Brady.
The Broncos may be playing on their home turf, Sports Authority Field at Mile High, but it’s the Patriots who are the defending Super Bowl champions. However, this 2015 version of Manning isn’t the same one as the quarterback who made 55 touchdown passes during the 2013 season.
Brady, 38, looks ageless.
When asked about Denver’s continuously improving rushing attack, head coach Bill Belichick pointed to their week 12 match up and said “probably the best it was [was] against us”. But controlling the time of possession did not help Kansas City last week in its 27-20 loss at New England. He was magnificent in the 2003 AFC championship game, intercepting Manning three times in a 24-14 New England victory. “That’s what we’re going to do”.
The Patriots’ overachieving defense is banged up, and top linebacker Jerod Mayo just went on injured reserve.
The Broncos have taken a few public and social media swipes at Brady and Gronkowski in recent days, most notably saying that the Patriots quarterback complains often to the referees, and that Gronkowski is notorious for using his frame to push off. Defensive end Antonio Smith called Brady a crybaby, while fellow lineman Malik Jackson said Brady has thrown “temper tantrums” on the field. Jake Plummer and the Broncos went to lose to the Steelers in the AFC title game the following week. They’ve always been a great organization. They’re going to take advantage of opportunities that they get, so we’re going to have to do a good job of taking care of the football, because you don’t want to give it to these guys on a short field.
“I just say, ‘We’ll fix it, we’ll be fine.’ That’s all I say”.
Brady and Manning didn’t invent these changes exactly-though they did have some influence-they simply took the trends over the past 15 years and were the best at adapting to them.
Gostkowski’s kick midway through the second quarter was made possible thanks to Tom Brady’s 11-yard scramble on third down earlier in the drive.
“They’ve got a bunch of All-Pro and Pro-Bowlers, a nasty good group – football nasty”, said Patriots receiver Julian Edelman. I wish they were out this week, but unfortunately they’re not.
Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning responds to questions during a news conference following an NFL football practice at the team’s headquarters Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016, in Englewood, Colo. Even the players know it. I’m not sure the Broncos will have much luck either. It is matchup problems, and those guys have always given people matchup problems. “It’s definitely unique and special”.
However, 105 of those yards came after Patriots linebacker Dont’a Hightower left with a knee injury.
The perennial AFC powers will be trying to build upon their storied legacies. New England is seeking its ninth AFC title; nobody has won more.
A Brady win today in Denver, never his favorite place to play (2-6 all time), and he goes to his seventh Super Bowl.
Manning may not be the player he once was, but the Patriots offered nothing but praise this week.
