Is this the next-gen Moto 360 smartwatch?

A teaser video depicting what looks like the device surfaced on the firm’s Twitter account before being pulled – but not before 9to5Google captured screenshots.

Android blog site Droid Life got wind of a tweet from Motorola Mobility that says the third Moto X installment is all set to unbox in the United States but the same report was updated later, indicating that the announcement has been deleted. While the original Moto 360 was very stylish, it nonetheless had a very thick overall frame that we expect Motorola has worked to slim down over the past year.

If you want the Moto X Style you’ll have to sign up for a contract with Vodafone, which will give you one for $83 a month on their $80 Red plan. The Motorola brand also gains praises for its video stabilization and white balance. Moto X Style will replace the Moto X 2014 flagship, while Moto X Play comes just the same, but with lesser specs. The original Moto 360, by the way, had a 320 mAh battery. They also mention battery capacity for each – 270mAh in the 360S and 375mAh in the 360L (closer to the original 360’s 320mAh battery).

Back when Motorola unveiled the Moto 360 back in September 2014, the company said that the blank portion below the display was required in order to fit in the touch sensor. So which one of these smartphones offers the most and is worthy to win this specification comparison? Smartwatches have not really taken off, but the Moto 360 was solid and the company is hoping to build on that success.

The next Moto X will sport a 5.7-inch quad HD display with, perhaps, a Snapdragon 808 chipset under its hood while Android 5.1.1 will run the handset.

The technical compliance certificates for both unfortunately leave much to be desired in the way of hard information on the products aside from supported radios (Bluetooth LE, WiFi b/g/n). Phandroid believes the render is legit, because it matches a different prototype that Lenovo’s CEO showed off via Weibo. It instead features a fully round watch face. In Motorola’s description on a separate document, the type of device is listed as “smart watch”. According to the documents, the upcoming dock is “wireless” and was used to test a “smart watch” at various levels of charge.
