Ford has led Auburn in tackles in each of the last two years, including 118 stops with 3.5 for loss, two interceptions, four pass breakups and two fumbles recoveries in 2015. The Hornung Award is a relative newcomer to the award landscape (the first one was presented in 2010 and Bulldog Brandon Boykin won it in 2011) which honors college football’s most versatile player.

The Paul Hornung Award, named after football legend and Louisville native Paul Hornung, is an annual award given to the most versatile player in college football by the Louisville Sports Commission. McCleskey was the Cowboys’ primary punt returner and ran one back 67 yards for a touchdown at Texas Tech.

“I’m ecstatic that the Paul Hornung Award has gained national prominence in such a short time”, Hornung said in a release. Cornelius capped his season with a career long 35-yard punt return and a rushing touchdown in the Liberty Bowl against Kansas State.
