ISIS-themed Halloween display has Butler neighbors talking

A New Jersey homeowner’s ISIS-themed Halloween display shocked his neighbors, who called the decorations “tasteless” and “un-American”, according to published reports.

But the gruesome and politicized imagery – including a mannequin dressed as a tortured ISIS prisoner and another armed with a machete and wearing a President Obama mask – struck a few of the man’s neighbors as simply in bad taste.

Homeowner Bill D’Catt was pretty nonchalant about the display when asked by CBS: “We choose to be on the spookier side of Halloween”, D’Catt said. “You know what’s scarier than this thing?”

“What greater scary man is there than the real threat among us”, said the homeowner, who would only identify himself as Matt.

“This is an anti-ISIS setup here”.

‘That’s not (a house) I would think a lot of parents would want their kids trick or treating at’. He argued that the message behind the set up is anti-ISIS and said it’s his first amendment right to put what he wants on his front lawn. D’Catt said, adding that he previously took the Obama mask off the fighter.

Matt says that the controversial nature of the display is part of what makes it necessary.

The desecrated flag, covered in blood around the hanged soldier’s shoulders, was especially unpatriotic, neighbors said.

Others insisted that Halloween is meant for kids and politics should be left out of it.
