Muslims across America showed an outpouring of support for victims after the deadliest mass shooting in USA history left at least 50 people dead in an Orlando, Florida, nightclub.

The Islamic Foundation of Greater St. Louis is condemning the killings at an LGBT club in Orlando and urging the media, politicians and the community not to imply collective guilt to Muslims.

“We must challenge divisive interpretations of Islam that may encourage those like the gunman in Orlando”, the group said, adding that it has been struggling for a decade as a lone voice supporting LGBTQI rights. “We stand together against hatred, violence and demonization of entire communities”.
