“Breaking into a barrack of the Rejectionist military on the worldwide road south Akashat”, one subtitle reads.
The subtitled video also featured footage of armed ISIS militants attacking armored vehicles and tents and mustering in the desert.
It remains unclear whether the video was officially released by the militants but the link to the footage was released on messaging app Telegram which has been used by the group before, Reuters reported.
The claim was immediately denied by Russian Federation s defense ministry which said that the damage had been there for months and was due to fighting between Syrian government forces and “militants from terror groups”. The video was shared on ISIS terrorist channels on July 31 from “Wilayat al-Furat”, or the “Euphrates province” of the so-called Islamic State.

It follows a batch of devastating attacks linked with the group in the past few weeks. Last week, assailants loyal to Islamic State forced an elderly Catholic priest in France to his knees before slitting his throat. Prior to this, a truck driver mowed down a crowd celebrating Bastille Day in the French resort city of Nice and claimed lives of 84 people.
