He also appeared in videos of the beheadings of U.S. journalist Steven Sotloff, Mr Haines, Mr Henning, as well as American aid worker Abdul-Rahman Kassig, also known as Peter, and Japanese journalist Kenji Goto.

Real Identity: The man who is known for his vicious acts in the ISIS videos is a British citizen whose real name is Mohammed Emwazi.

Mohammed Emwazi had been reported killed in an airstrike last November, with United States forces saying they were “reasonably certain” he was dead. According to the article, the killed extremist generously once gave away a concubine to an injured brother.

Emwazi, 27, appeared in a string of IS videos showing the execution of foreign hostages. The videos don’t make clear if he carried out the actual killings.

He and three other IS militants with British accents were nicknamed “the Beatles” by some of their captives. According to Fox News, “The BBC reported that Emwazi attended Quintin Kynaston Academy in northwest London and in 2009 graduated from University of Westminster with a degree in computers”.

He was said to be a programming graduate who grew up in London but born in Kuwait.

It appears in the latest edition of the magazine Dabiq.

This aspect of Jihadi John’s behavior was revealed by Spanish journalist Javier Espinosa, who was held by the IS in Syria for more than six months after his abduction in September 2013.

The SITE intelligence monitoring website says Islamic State eulogized the killer in its English language magazine.

ISIS described Emwazi as a “martyr” and prayed to “Allah…to envelop him with His mercy and enter him into the highest levels of al-Firdaws (paradise)”.
