JERUSALEM- Israel’s prime minister said Sunday he will “fiercely reject” any worldwide proposals meant to bring about a solution to the conflict with the Palestinians.

Netanyahu, in public remarks to his cabinet, said “international proposals they are trying to force upon us” didn’t take into account Israel’s security needs.

In a statement released on Friday evening, al-Qassam Brigades said the attack had been carried out after “continuous observation” of the area.

France has argued in favor of a UN resolution that would guide negotiations leading to an independent Palestinian state and which could include a timeframe for talks.

Violent incidents between Israelis and Palestinians have been on the rise since the US-brokered peace talks collapsed last April.

A string of so-called lone-wolf attacks by Palestinians, which have occasionally involved shootings, began in Jerusalem in October but have spread to the West Bank.

If executed, the move marks the first time since the nineties that Palestinian-plated buses are allowed to travel directly to Jerusalem through checkpoints, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

The framework agreement proposed by Kerry included clauses such as negotiations based on the 1967 borders with land swaps, recognition of Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people, Jerusalem as the capital of both states, security arrangements for Israel in the Jordan Valley and a timetable for the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the West Bank.

The statement claimed that the attackers returned back to their homes safely after the shooting – Israeli police later said that they were conducting a “manhunt”. “The other man is lightly wounded and is receiving treatment”, a spokeswoman for the Sheba Medical Center hospital said. The guy was wounded when a gunman opened fire at a vehicle outside a West Bank settlement, killing an Israeli man, in what cops asserted was a “terror attack”.
