Earlier in the day, Israeli soldiers shot and killed a 73-year-old Palestinian woman in Hebron in what the Israeli military said was an attempt to attack them with her vehicle.
In a letter to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki- moon, Palestinian ambassador Riyad Mansour Riyad Mansour said that the bodies of the Palestinians killed by Israeli forces are “returned with missing corneas and other organs, further confirming past reports about organ harvesting by the occupying power”.
Palestinian media later reported that the woman succumbed to her wounds in hospital.
Shortly afterwards, a Palestinian stabbed and seriously wounded an Israeli at a West Bank settlement north of Jerusalem, the army said. “If she had wanted to take revenge (for her husband’s death), she could have done that a long time ago”, Sharawi said. Army forces are searching for the assailants, who fled the scene.
Since mid-September, 11 Israelis were killed in Palestinian attacks, majority in stabbings, while 72 Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire, including 45 who Israel said were involved in attacks or attempted attacks.
No Israeli injuries were reported.
As Hebron became a major center of violence in the past two weeks, Israel has been imposing harsher restrictions on the movement of the Palestinian residents, Israeli human rights watchdog B’tselem said.
There were also sporadic clashes in Hebron following the weekly Friday Muslim prayers, Palestinians said, where one protestor was wounded by in the head by a rubber bullet.
