Israel accuses Iran of continuing nuclear program

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Monday that his country has a trove of secret documents detailing Iran’s continued expansion of the range of its nuclear-capable missiles – a display insulting to the worldwide inspectors who have consistently found no evidence of such work, guests told Radio Sputnik’s Loud & Clear. “In 2017 Iran moved its nuclear weapons files to a highly secret location in Tehran”.

“Netanyahu may be the flavor of the day, but the larger issue driving this is what will Trump do with Iran?”

As he spoke, binders that he said held copies of original documents were on shelves behind him, as were cases containing CDs.

It calls for restrictions on Iran to run until 2025 but provides few de-nuclearization assurances after that.

Intelligence experts and diplomats said he did not seem to have presented a “smoking gun” showing that Iran had violated the terms of the agreement, although he may have helped make a case on behalf of skeptics in the USA administration who want to scrap it.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed the daring operation as he displayed the trove of documents in a presentation aimed at proving that Iran has lied about its atomic weapon’s program. That is not acceptable. It is altogether possible that President Trump will nix the deal – with just a little push from Netanyahu. We got nothing. We got nothing, ? he said. “That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t negotiation a new agreement”.

Trump has until May 12 to decide whether to restore sanctions on Iran that were lifted after the global agreement. Undeterred by cartoon fiasco at UNGA.

But Albright said it does more than that.

Tehran has denied ever seeking nuclear weapons and accuses its arch-foe Israel of stirring up world suspicions against it. What’s more, the International Atomic Energy Agency, or IAEA, still had its own outstanding questions for Iran. How convenient. Coordinated timing of alleged intelligence revelations by the boy who cries wolf just days before May 12.

Netanyahu took direct aim at the Iran nuclear deal, known officially as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, calling it “a awful deal” that “should never have been concluded”.

Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro wrote that the documents demonstrate “that the Obama administration lied constantly and repeatedly to the public about Iran’s newfound moderation in order to scam the public into approving Obama’s Iran nuclear deal – a deal that allowed Iran to maximize its regional power with income from the West”.

Netanyahu said he was prepared to share the “incriminating” files on Iran’s nuclear weapons program, “Project Amad”.

Israel has been increasingly anxious over Iran’s growing efforts to develop long-range missiles and establish a military foothold in war-torn Syria.

However, it does mean that continued confirmations from top Israeli and United States intelligence officials, including Mike Pompeo, showing Iran has otherwise complied with the nuclear deal since its signing are still valid.

Macron, British Prime Minister Theresa May, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel agreed in phone calls on Sunday and Monday that the deal remain “the best way of neutralizing the threat of a nuclear-armed Iran”, according to a readout from Downing Street.

“Oil reacted very severely” to Netanyahu’s announcement, said Phil Flynn, analyst at Price Futures Group in Chicago. The Prime Minister intends to speak to the leaders of Great Britain and China “forthwith”, his office said. Netanyahu said he has shared this information with the United States.

In a separate tweet, Zarif rejected accusations by the US President Donald Trump and Netanyahu concerning Tehran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons.

“With the information I have been provided, I have seen no evidence they are not in compliance today”, Pompeo said.
