On Monday evening, a Palestinian was killed during clashes with Israelis in the West Bank and another was shot during clashes near the Gaza border.

“A rocket was sacked from the Gaza Strip at southern Israel and landed in an open area”, the Israeli army said in a statement, adding that its fighter jets later pounded two alleged sites of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas in the southern and central part of Gaza. There were no damages or injuries reported, and Israeli forces were still looking for the projectile.

No one has taken responsibility for Monday’s launch from Gaza so far.

Past year 450 rockets were fired at Israel’s from Gaza, and a rocket from the territory landed in the south of the country last Wednesday.

Hamas-affiliated news outlets say Israel Air Force warplanes are striking targets belonging to the group’s military wing.

Lt. Col. Peter Lerner, of the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit, said, “The intolerable reality of civilians continually living under the threat of Gaza rockets is unacceptable, unbearable and must stop”. Israel holds Hamas responsible for all attacks originating in Gaza.
