Israel approves stiff penalties against rock throwers

Eid, a former director of the Palestinian Human Rights Monitoring Group (PHRMG), said Palestinians are “fed up and hopeless”, and have lost trust in the Palestinian Authority (PA).

A recent study of the 1,026 crime reports filed over the last decade, 940 were closed without indictments, mostly because police were unable to find a culprit.

There are more than 6,500 Palestinians now languishing in detention facilities throughout Israel, according to official Palestinian figures. “I have never seen anyone wanting to throwaway a laptop, because they want to boycott Israel”, Edelstein said.
