Lawyers for some of those detained over the arson attack allege their clients were tortured to extract confessions but this has been denied by the Israeli authorities. He said it was in retaliation for the murder of Malachi Rosenfeld, 25, in June in a drive-by shooting by Palestinian attackers in the West Bank on a road near Duma.
He said that although the investigation remains under a gag order, the court had indicated Sunday it would file a request to have that order lifted.
The stabbing at the Gush Etzion junction is the latest in three-and-a-half months of near-daily attacks that have killed 21 Israelis since mid-September mostly in stabbing and car-ramming attacks.
According to Israel’s Shin Bet security service, those indicted for the attack had admitted to carrying it out.
The Israeli military says a Palestinian attacker has stabbed a soldier in the West Bank, after which troops at the scene shot and killed him.
Netanyahu called the video “shocking” and said it showed “the true face of a group that constitutes a danger to Israeli society and to the security of Israel”.
These were the first bodies of attackers from east Jerusalem, however, and security forces still have at least 11 others of Palestinians from the area, three of them under 18, according to Addameer. She was then shot and killed.

Referred to in Israel as “price-tag attacks” such offences have usually been carried out in what the attackers say are reprisals for Palestinian violence against Israelis or government curbs on unauthorised West Bank settlement building. The Palestinians say it is rooted in frustration stemming from almost five decades of Israeli occupation.
