Israel bombs Hamas sites in Gaza following rocket attack

Israeli army jets struck targets in the Gaza Strip on Monday night, hours after a rocket was sacked at Sha’ar Hanegev Regional Council in southern Israel from the coastal territory.

No injuries or damages were reported in the rocket launch on Monday evening, as the rocket exploded in an open territory, according to the Israeli army and police.

A group of militants from Gaza affiliated with the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria claimed responsibility.

“In response to the attack, IAF aircrafts targeted two terror sites of the Hamas terror organization in southern Gaza Strip”, the Israeli military said in a statement.

10 Israelis have been killed in Palestinian attacks, while 51 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire, including 30 said by Israel to be attackers and the rest in clashes.

An Israeli soldier stabbed in one of the attacks was in critical condition with injuries to the neck and upper body. A Palestinian stabbed him at a roadblock near Hebron, the Israeli military said. An Eritrean, nine Israelis, and 60 Palestinians have been killed.

It was the latest incident in weeks of nearly daily Palestinian attacks against Israeli civilians and security forces.
