Israel boost troops in West Bank after Palestinian attacks
Today, the 17th of september, a young Palestinian man on the age of 22 was shot dead by Israeli forces in Tel Rumeida. The second incident was an intended homicide-by-vehicle when two Palestinians drove into a group of Israelis waiting at a bus stop, wounding three.

A Palestinian man stabbed an Israeli soldier Saturday morning in the West Bank city of Hebron, according to the Israeli army. The perpetrator, when close enough, pulls out a knife and lunges, then charges at others, and is shot.
The Palestinian health ministry named the martyred man as Hatem al-Shaloudi, 25.
Israeli forces later imposed a blockade on Bani Naim in response to the attack.
Later, two Palestinians attempted to carry out a car-ramming attack outside the settlement of Kiryat Arba, according to the military. Those include Israel’s promise not to seek additional funds from Congress beyond what will be guaranteed annually in the new package, and to phase out a special arrangement that has allowed Israel to spend part of its United States aid on its own defense industry instead of on American-made weapons, the officials said. The two were residents of the nearby village of Bani Na’im.
Israeli security forces gather at the scene where a Palestinian stabbed an Israeli soldier before he was shot dead, in the flashpoint West Bank city of Hebron.
On Friday, Israeli forces shot dead three Arab assailants in separate incidents in East Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank.
On the same day, a Palestinian man was shot dead in East Jerusalem.
Senior Palestinian official Hanan Ashrawi condemned Israel’s actions.
“Israel is flagrantly employing a systematic and wilful policy of summary executions against the Palestinian people; such provocative acts are in direct violation of global law and conventions”, she said.
There has been no immediate comment from Palestinian officials about Saturday’s attack.
The year-old surge in violence has been fuelled by Palestinians’ frustration over Israel’s 48-year occupation of land they seek for an independent state, and the expansion of settlements in those territories which were captured by Israel in the 1967 Middle East war.
The bank is recommending a lightening of restrictions by Israel both in “The West Bank and Gaza”.

But Ban Ki-moon, the UN Secretary General, said a wave of renewed violence that ignited past year was “bred from almost five decades of Israeli occupation” and the result of “fear, humiliation, frustration and mistrust” among Palestinians. Israeli soldiers committing extrajudicial killings of Palestinian civilians is nothing new under the sun.
