Israel demolishes homes of three Palestinians charged in West Bank shooting
In The Los Angeles Times article yesterday about Israel’s demolition of homes of Palestinian terrorists who killed Israelis (“Israel knocks down homes in West Bank”, by Maher Abukhater and Batsheva Sobelman), a journalistic wrecking ball spells disaster for multiple basic facts.

The anniversary comes amidst a continued wave of tension between the Palestinians and Israelis that flared up early October.
Abu Shahin is accused of shooting dead Danny Gonen near the Dolev settlement in the West Bank on June 19, in an attack that also wounded another Israeli.
Meanwhile, Israeli security forces arrested an alleged member of militant movement Islamic Jihad and detained other suspects over the murder of a rabbi and his son near Hebron, officials said Sunday.
Using animation, archival footage and interview, the animated documentary recreates the events of the true story of Palestinians who during the First Intifada hid 18 cows they had bought to produce their own milk after Israeli forces declared them a national security threat.
The claim drew a response from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who asked the foreign ministry to file a protest with the worldwide Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and request explanations.
Channel 10 released a dramatic audio of a call it said was from one of the passengers in the auto calling rescue services as the attack unfolded.
The current round of bloodshed was triggered by unrest at a major Jerusalem shrine revered by Muslims and Jews, and quickly spread to Israel, the West Bank and the Gaza border.
Israeli media reported that the gunman stopped his vehicle at the side of the road and waited for an Israeli auto to pass. After the fatal shooting, occupants of another Israeli auto reported shots fired at the vehicle, with no injuries.
“In addition, hundreds of Palestinians attacked the force with fire bombs, IEDs and rocks”, the army said.
Palestinian leaders, however, have linked the attacks against Israel to what they describe as defense of the Temple Mount.

Those visitors include many from the growing number of Jewish settlers in the West Bank – territory that Palestinians envision as part of a future independent state. Israelis were also critical of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas who had a press opportunity immediately after the incident but chose not to condemn either the attack or the ongoing spate of violence. “Since I have the relationships people may be prepared to be more forthcoming than when they think you are representing [the Quartet]”, he said.
