The housing ministry spokeswoman could not be immediately reached for comment on Monday.
“For these reasons, whenever an Israeli leader tries to promote the plans in E1, the worldwide community strongly condemns them”.
The ministry’s plans include moves to retroactively legalize a number of illegal outposts in occupied areas, as well as to create urban continuity between illegal settlements to Jerusalem, the watchdog said.
“The area of Maale Adumim and E1 is one of the most sensitive areas in terms of the chances for two state solution”, Peace Now wrote.
US-backed peace talks between the Palestinians and Israel collapsed in April 2014 amid bitter mutual recriminations.
“Using primarily these five methods: seizure for military purposes; declaration of state lands; seizure of absentee property; confiscation for public needs; and initial registration, Israel has managed to take over about 50% of the lands in the West Bank, barring the local Palestinian public from using them”.
Israeli troops shot and killed a Palestinian who rammed them with his auto in the occupied West Bank on Thursday, the Israeli military said, as a wave of violence approached its fourth month.
JERUSALEM-Gennady Kaufman, a soft-spoken gardener at Me’arat Hamachpelah (the Cave of the Patriarchs) died today and was laid to rest in the ancient Jewish cemetery in Hebron, three weeks after being stabbed in the heart by a terrorist just outside the holy site.

CAMERA has contacted editors ABC’s NY station to request a clarification making clear that of the four Palestinians killed December 24, three were killed as they carried out attacks against Israelis, and the fourth was killed in a violent clash with Israeli soldiers.
