Earlier Sunday, Israel responded to the Sderot rocket with strikes on two targets in northern Gaza.

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim has reacted to the Israeli rocket attack in the blockaded Gaza Strip on Sunday, Anadolu Agency reports.
The ministry said Israel’s “hostile attitude” had interrupted the peace process as well as a period of inactivity.
“The normalization of relations with Israel does not mean that we have to remain silent about attacks against the Palestinian people in Gaza”, the statement read.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry statement came hours after police detained five people who entered the perimeter courtyard in Ankara where Israel’s consulate is located, to protest the Gaza air strikes.
A rocket fired from Gaza landed in the southern Israeli city of Sderot.
While most of the attacks targeted Hamas, the Islamic militant group that controls Gaza, one struck a military camp used by the smaller Islamic Jihad group.
In response, Israel launched an air and artillery assault on Hamas targets in Gaza that continued throughout the night. It reported that shells also landed in a training ground used by Hamas resistance fighters. Hamas, considered a terrorist organization by Israel, the USA and the European Union, seized control of Gaza in 2007 after days of armed battles against the security forces of the Palestinian Authority’s ruling Fatah faction.
Israel on Monday lashed out at Turkey for criticizing its strikes on the Gaza Strip enclave following rocket fire towards Israeli communities late Sunday.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack on Sderot. A rocket, believed to have been fired from the north of the Gaza Strip, was found between two residential houses in the town.
In a Facebook post, Iyad al-Bozum, the spokesman for the interior ministry in Gaza, said that “the Israeli aggression against our [Palestinian] people targeted many facilities and caused significant damage to infrastructure in different areas of the Gaza Strip”.
