Israel lifts age restrictions on al-Aqsa Mosque

Liu made the appeal at a Security Council meeting on the Middle East, noting that the humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate in the face of multiple challenges such as blockade by Israel, unstable Palestinian-Israeli situation and serious shortage of resources.
“A number of constructive proposals were suggested, including steps Israel could take to reaffirm yet again the continued commitment to maintaining the status quo at Temple Mount/Haram al-Sharif, ” Kirby said.
The Israeli leader has insisted he has no intention of changing the rules.
