Israel renews planning for West Bank settlement
Israeli Cabinet ministers on Sunday gave preliminary approval to a bill that imposes new disclosure requirements on nonprofit groups that receive foreign funding – drawing accusations it is cracking down on pro-peace groups, rattling relations with Europe and deepening an increasingly toxic divide between liberal and hawkish Israelis.

The law would require NGOs that get most of their money from foreign governments or foreign-funded entities to publicly disclose the sources of their funds.
“Instead of fighting against Jewish terrorism coming from the right wing, the government is busy with legislation aimed at forcing peace and human rights activists to wear special badges”, it said.
Israel is working to revive and extend plans for new Jewish settler homes in the contentious area of the occupied West Bank known as E1, settler watchdog Peace Now said Monday. It said it had obtained the data after a two-year legal battle in response to a freedom of information request.
Peace Now said the homes are among more than 55,000 housing units at various stages of planning by Israel’s Housing Ministry. “There is no need to pay worldwide prices for a process that does not have great significance”, a statement from the prime minister’s office said.
The cell is evidence to “an increased effort to exploit the escalation of violence in the West Bank to promote bombings and suicide bombings against targets in Israel and the West Bank”, the Shin Bet said. “You can not defeat us”, he said.
Israel accuses Palestinian leaders of inciting violence while the Palestinians say it is the result of the almost 50 years of military occupation. “Leave us alone”, Peleg said.
Israeli forces shot dead two Palestinians who stabbed and wounded an Israeli soldier in the occupied West Bank on Sunday, the army said, in the latest attack in 12 weeks of heightened violence, according to Reuters.

The soldier who was stabbed suffered light wounds and the soldier caught in the crossfire suffered moderate wounds, officials told Haaretz.
