Israel returns bodies of 3 more Palestinian terrorists

Construction plans for over 12 thousand housing units in occupied East Jerusalem and the Old City are also underway by the Ministry of Housing, the report said, adding that around half of 55,548 settlement units expected to be built through the ministry’s plans lie on the Palestinian side of the separation wall.
The revelations are likely to spark controversy, as construction in E1 would effectively split the West Bank into separate northern and southern parts, making the creation of a contiguous Palestinian state almost impossible.
“The area of Maale Adumim and E1 is one of the most sensitive areas in terms of the chances for two state solution”, Peace Now wrote.
The Palestinians, along with the global community, strongly object to settlement of the area.
The US, UN and European Union oppose all Israeli settlement building but have particular concerns about plans for E1.
The information was provided to Peace Now by the Housing Ministry following a freedom of information petition, according to the organization.
Nearly daily Palestinian stabbings, car-rammings and shooting attacks have killed 21 Israelis and a USA citizen, raising fears of a wider escalation a decade after the last Palestinian uprising subsided.
The Israeli military said two males – Mohammad Sabana, 17, and Nour al-Din Sabana, 23 – were shot after stabbing and wounding a soldier at a checkpoint in Huwwara, south of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus. The worldwide community, including the USA, rejects settlements as illegal or illegitimate, saying they undermine the goal of establishing a Palestinian state living in peace next to Israel.
Since the start of October, Israeli forces or armed civilians have killed at least 132 Palestinians, 82 of whom authorities described as assailants. The latest round of US-brokered peace talks collapsed in April 2014.
Almost 600,000 Israelis now live in the West Bank and east Jerusalem.

Also Sunday, Israel returned the bodies of seven suspected Palestinian assailants killed in recent weeks to their families, the military said.
