Israel shuts down Palestinian radio station it says incites

This uprising is the result of an accumulation of factors, all of which have roots in one place: the Israeli occupation of Palestine that has lasted for 48 years, the longest in modern history. Three Israelis were wounded in a stabbing attack by a 19-year old Palestinian man from Hebron.

“Al Hurria radio station’s agenda encourages stabbing attacks, violent riots and reports false and malicious claims of security forces”, the IDF said. Settlement construction and Israeli occupation “drive Palestinian violence – not any words spoken by a Palestinian leader”, Abbas told a delegation of the Center for Information and Documentation on Israel, the Dutch Jewish community’s main pro-Israel lobby and watchdog on anti-Semitism. The official Palestinian news agency Wafa said he was wounded in the violence. “It’s not just him as a leader having no authority and influence, it’s the whole political class. The people who have been demonstrating, carrying out these spasms, have been acting on a completely unorganized basis”.

Haaretz’s source added that during the meeting, Halevi was lambasted by immigrant absorption minister Ze’ev Elkin, who accused the intelligence chief of effectively blaming Israeli policy for a spate of violence in the occupied Palestinian territories. “As attacks against innocent Israelis continue, it’s important that we reaffirm our country’s bipartisan support of Israel – something that President Obama and his administration habitually fail to do”. “There is no other explanation”.

The resolution calls on Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas “and Palestinian Authority officials to discontinue all official incitement and exert influence to discourage anti-Israel and anti-Semitic incitement in Palestinian civil society”.

“It’s become frightening for all of us”, said Zidani, 28, a resident of the Silwan area.

“Such an announcement is remarkable in its stated contempt for human life, as well as raising a multitude of grave concerns as to the adherence of Israeli forces to central tenets of worldwide law”, Badil said in a statement.

As is typical when Israelis must protect themselves against terror attacks, there are references to a disparity in the “body count” – more Palestinians killed than Israelis, and charges of Israeli “overreaction” and “disproportionate” use of force fly with abandon. In fact, Manasra was being treated in an Israeli hospital for injuries sustained from being hit by a auto while fleeing after he and his cousin stabbed a 13-year old Jewish boy.

An Israeli diplomat said Israel has been informed the move could be soon.

Such gestures have angered many Israel supporters in Europe, particularly in light of recent comments seen as encouraging violence against Jews. He was arrested and taken for an interrogation after the weapons were found with him. The same poll found a majority of Palestinians calling the P.A. a “burden on the Palestinian people” and two-thirds accusing it of insufficient action against “settlers’ terrorism”.
