“Israelis are acting with bravery, courage, restraint and determination to neutralize and kill the terrorists in the act”, Netanyahu told reporters at a press conference with top defense officials.

“All of us, we’re in the midst of a wave of terrorism… terrorists that are incited, filled with hatred and trying to hurt people”.

“In Israel we’re fortunate to have many ex-military and current military reservists that are professionals, well trained, they know how to fight”.

Both Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas have called for calm and Palestinian police continue to coordinate with Israeli security forces to try to restore order, but there are few signs of the tension and violence dying down.

Social media websites typically flare-up when Israeli-Palestinian violence rises, such because the 2014 Israel-Gaza warfare, with fiery debates between customers and typically even officers or fighters on both aspect, spreading throughout digital platforms.

“Forces on the site responded with fire toward the main instigators to prevent their progress and disperse the riot”, an army spokeswoman said. The sources identified one of the dead as 14-year-old Shadi Dalalah.

Zeid Raad al-Hussein said he was “deeply concerned at the increasing number of reported attacks” by both Israeli settlers and Palestinians.

The location of the seventh known fatality in Gaza was not specified.

A police officer sustained light stabbing wounds to his arm and leg and is being treated at the scene.

After attacks in Jerusalem and the West Bank left two Israelis seriously wounded Thursday, the violence spread deeper into Israel when police said an Arab attacker stabbed and moderately wounded an Israeli soldier in Afula. He said this week was not the first time he has gone out with his weapon and earlier this year, he and his bodyguard, unarmed, subdued a Palestinian attacker.

Not much can be done from an intelligence agency point of view to prevent spontaneous attacks by an individual who “decides to take a screwdriver and stab the first Jew that passes by”, said Yuval Diskin, Israel’s former internal security chief, in an interview with Channel 2 TV. Another Arab was stabbed near a school, she said. He was lightly wounded in the upper part of his body and is receiving medical attention, Samri said.

An Israeli army spokesperson said 200 Palestinians threw rocks and rolled burning tires near the security fence.

The attack kicked off a bloody holiday weekend in which four Israelis and four Palestinians were killed amid violent protests. His senior aide, Ben Rhodes, told Israeli radio on Thursday that Washington had no “silver bullet” to bring about the envisaged Palestinian state alongside Israel.

A Palestinian got off a bus in Petah Tikva, a Tel Aviv suburb, and stabbed a man, a police spokeswoman said, adding that the assailant was overpowered and taken into custody.

Israel announced Sunday it was reinstating restrictions on access to Jerusalem’s Old City.

He says he is committed to “peaceful popular resistance” though he backs protesters who recently barricaded themselves inside Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa mosque and clashed with Israeli police.

Samri said police are on high alert.

Three Palestinians have been shot dead – including the man killed on Wednesday – and scores injured in clashes with security services, triggering fears of an escalation.
