Israeli army: 2 Palestinians killed after stabbing soldier
The Palestinian health ministry said that the assailants were Mohammed Sabaaneh, aged 17, and Nur Eddine Sabaaneh, 23, from Qabatia near Jenin in the north of the Israeli-occupied West Bank.

Meanwhile, the army said a Palestinian driver approached the Huwara checkpoint in the northern West Bank and rammed his auto into security forces.
Many of the Palestinians killed have been attackers while others have been shot dead by Israeli security forces during clashes.
A soldier was wounded and forces responded, firing at the perpetrator, a statement said.
Earlier still, an Israeli soldier was stabbed and lightly injured outside Jerusalem’s central bus station, where large numbers of soldiers catch buses back to their bases after a Shabbat break at home.
Twenty Israelis and at least 127 Palestinians have been killed in nearly daily street attacks and clashes over the past three months.
Jerusalem District Police said that the man followed the soldier as he walked down HaTsvi Street and stabbed him in the upper body. Samri said the officers opened fire and killed the assailant.
She said the attacker was a 26-year-old Palestinian from annexed east Jerusalem.
The military identified one of the returned dead as Issam Thawabta, who was killed in November after he fatally stabbed Hadar Buchris, a 21-year-old Israeli woman, at the Gush Etzion junction south of Jerusalem.
The man’s identity wasn’t published, but police said he was a Palestinian from the Ramallah area who had entered Israel illegally.
Palestinians have killed 20 Israelis and a USA citizen in the same period, raising fears of a wider escalation, a decade after the last Palestinian uprising subsided.

Some of the violence has been motivated by increasing visits by Israeli forces to the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, which is considered one of the holiest Islamic sites outside of Saudi Arabia, Al Jazeera reports.
