Israeli army kills Palestinian man while arresting his son

Israeli soldiers have killed a Palestinian man, the second in 24 hours, during a raid on a house in the occupied West Bank.

Falah Abu Maria, 50, was shot in the chest in his home in the village of Beit Omar near the southern city of Hebron, neighbors said.

He had run to the upstairs balcony to name for an ambulance after his son Mohammed was wounded whereas being arrested by the military, spouse Fayqa informed AFP.

The Israeli military stated troops confronted assaults with bricks and stones through the operation to arrest Mohammed, who was needed on suspicion of unspecified safety offences.

The army spokesperson said she could not confirm the victim’s identity but acknowledged that the wanted suspect was not taken into custody. “The forces responded with hearth in the direction of the primary instigator”.

A soldier was “slightly injured” by a stone, she said.

The 21-year-old Palestinian was reportedly shot with a reside bullet in his chest and was transferred to a hospital, the place he succumbed to his accidents.

Earlier this month, Col. Yisrael Shomer shot dead Mohammad Kosba, a 17-year-old from the Qalandiyah refugee camp north of Jerusalem, after the youth threw rocks at an his vehicle.

Hamas and Islamic Jihad groups hinted at revenge after Thursday’s death.

On Wednesday, Palestinian medical and security sources said Israeli troops shot dead a Palestinian man near the city of Jenin in the northern West Bank.

The shootings came after weeks of violence in the Palestinian territories, and amid regular Israeli arrest operations.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas condemned the killings with his spokesperson saying that the killing of Palestinians “aims to create a state of instability and tension in the region”, reported WAFA.

Official reports show that since the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories in 1967, approximately 800,000 olive trees have been uprooted in the occupied West Bank.
