The only survivor, a four-year-old boy, is still being treated for his wounds.

Israeli leaders from across the political spectrum condemned the attack, but the lack of suspects has remained a sore point among Palestinians.

Israel’s security services believe that the movement on these cases may help reassure Palestinians that violence by Israeli settlers will not go unpunished, according to the Ma’ariv newspaper, and could help to calm the current violence.

The billionaire businessman said he wasn’t sure if the Israeli and Palestinian sides were willing to make the sacrifices necessary for a peace agreement.

The arson drew renewed attention to Jewish extremism and accusations that Israel had not done enough to address the problem.

Israel says demolitions act as a deterrent to potential attackers, while rights groups and Palestinians say it amounts to collective punishment, forcing family members to suffer for acts committed by someone else.

The military says the attacker got out of his auto and fired at Israelis near the village of Hizme.

In addition, an American student was killed in a Palestinian attack and an Eritrean migrant was shot dead by an Israeli security guard after he was mistakenly identified as an attacker.

As president, Trump said he would use his negotiating skills to broker a deal between Palestine and Israel within six months.

Tensions have also been stoked by disputes over access to a Jerusalem holy site revered by Jews and Muslims and other issues at the heart of the now-frozen Israeli-Palestinian peace process, from failed negotiations to Israeli settlements on occupied land that Palestinians seek for a independent state.

To crack down on unrest, Israel last month resumed demolishing homes of Palestinians accused of attacking Israelis.

Palestinian anger over the attack has been a factor fuelling a wave of street assaults on Israelis that erupted on October 1. He was arrested days after the attack.
