Israeli Drone Strike Kills 5 in Syria

Despite allegations coming from Israel, the Islamic Jihad denies any involvement about the recent rocket attack that is being pinned on them.

“The IDF killed the forces responsible for the rocket attacks and the Syrians who allowed it to happen”, Netanyahu said.

ISRAEL bombed southern Syria yesterday, killing five civilians and a soldier in retaliation for an alleged rocket attack.

“We have no intention of compromising on this issue, and I suggest no one test our resolve on this matter”, he said.

“We know of at least four of them who were killed”, the official said.

Last month, Syrian activists reported that an Israeli airstrike in Quneitra killed fighters from the Lebanese Hezbollah movement battling alongside al-Assad’s troops.

Israel’s foreign ministry said on Friday that the Islamic Jihad force behind Thursday’s rocket fire was under the operational command of an officer of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps.

The Syrian army, which has been on a war footing with Israel for decades, had deployed a substantial part of its land forces and artillery in southern Syria and in the Golan Heights and built elaborate defenses against Israel.

But Islamic Jihad said those killed were not among its own.

The IDF struck 14 sites in an area under Syrian regime control in the Golan Heights from which the rockets were fired.

But the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a UK-based monitoring group, said that Israel had targeted the Syrian military in Quneitra province, causing an unknown number of casualties.

The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine also condemned the Israeli airborne assaults against Syria, calling on the global community to take action against the provocative moves of the Tel Aviv regime.
