In Monday’s violence, the Israeli military said troops entered the Qalandiya refugee camp on the outskirts of Jerusalem to demolish the home of Muhammad Abu Shaheen, a Palestinian who the army said fatally shot an Israeli motorist in the West Bank this summer.

The home being targeted was that of Mohammed Abu Shahin who was accused of shooting dead Israeli Danny Gohen in June.

Palestinians are angry at increasing violence by Israeli settlers at the al-Aqsa Mosque compound and the latter’s attacks on Palestinian properties, saying that the Tel Aviv regime seeks to change the status quo of the compound.

Separately, 19 Palestinians were wounded in clashes between stone-throwing youths and Israeli security forces in the south of the occupied West Bank.

In response, the Israeli government has ordered an intensification of demolitions of homes of those accused of carrying out the attacks.

Israel has renewed a home demolition tactic that it says is a legal and effective tool to deter attacks.

“We are not to blame for the terrorism directed against us, just as the French are not to blame for the terrorism directed against them”.

“During the activity, suspects opened fire at the forces”, the military said in a statement, referring to the raid at the camp.

Meanwhile, a Hebron hospital said a Palestinian was shot and killed in clashes with Israeli security forces near the city on Friday.

“I am not going to comment on those other than to say that what I have found since leaving the Quartet role is it has been easier to have conversations of complete frankness with people”, he said.

The Palestinian Authority President, Mahmoud Abbas, condemned the Paris attacks and said that the Palestinians are standing in solidarity with the people of France.

Israel says the fighting has been fueled by Palestinian incitement while Palestinians say it’s the result of despair over the repeated failure of peace talks and a lack of hope of gaining independence.

The Israeli Supreme Court on Thursday paved the way for the demolition of the Qalandia home and four others in the West Bank when it rejected a petition by the owners to block the action.

He cited the case of a Palestinian arrested over Friday’s murders, after Israeli security forces said the suspect’s father and brother turned him in, fearing their home would be razed.

Those operations also sparked clashes in which nine Palestinians were wounded.

The army confirmed that at least three Palestinians were shot. The Gaza health ministry said 17 rock-throwers were hurt from Israeli retaliatory fire.
