The military said four members of the Islamic militant group Hamas shot dead Eitam and Naama Henkin as they drove through the West Bank last October.

The violence has since killed at least 209 Palestinians, 32 Israelis, two Americans, an Eritrean and a Sudanese. The couple has been evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.

Friday’s incident is the latest in nine months of dozens of Palestinian attacks, including stabbings, shootings and assaults using cars.

Since it occupied the West Bank in 1967, Israel has laid hands on Palestinian water resources through discriminatory water-sharing agreements that prevented Palestinians from maintaining or developing their water infrastructure through its illegal planning and permit regime.

An advisor assured that Trump was no longer supportive of the idea of an independent Palestinian, unless the state was created with “the approval of the Israelis”.

A few hundred Jewish settlers live under heavy army guard among several hundred thousand Palestinians in the heart of the West Bank’s most populous city. Both water resources are transboundary – meaning that, by worldwide law, they should be shared in an equitable and reasonable manner by Israel and Palestine.
