Israeli ministers vote to impose new measures on human rights groups
A more than three-month-long wave of stabbings and other violence continued on Sunday, when three separate stabbings or stabbing attempts by Palestinians targeting Israeli forces took place. An initial inquiry suggests an additional soldier was injured as a result of the fire directed towards the attackers, ‘ the military said in a statement.

“Mr. Netanyahu is claiming that the killing of any human being by a Jew is not comparable to the killing of a Jew by a non-Jew”, Erekat said, “This is probably why the terrorists who killed the Dawabsheh family haven’t been arrested just as Abu Khdeir family is still waiting for a ruling over the terrorists who burnt alive their 16 years old son, Mohammad”. The Israeli troops shot at the alleged assailants, killing them, and also wounded a soldier who was caught in the crossfire, according to Haaretz.
US-backed peace talks between the Palestinians and Israel collapsed in April 2014 amid bitter mutual recriminations.
The Fatah Central Committee also condemned the assassination of Kuntar, stating that “the heinous crime is added to the history of terror by the Israeli occupation state, which insists on continuing with the killing and destruction anywhere it pleases”.
Israeli ministers have voted in favour of a bill that will crack down on human rights groups receiving funds from overseas, a move European Union officials said was reminiscent of totalitarian regimes.
What about foreign funding of settlers? .
The bill’s sponsor, Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked, has alleged that “blatant interference in internal Israeli affairs by foreign governments is unprecedented and widespread”.
The bill is the latest measure by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government that political opponents say are aimed at stifling dissent toward its peace and security policies.
“Shaked’s bill represents a severe blow to freedom of expression and activity of organizations working in various fields who protect Israel’s moral image”.
Speaking at the weekly cabinet meeting on Sunday, Shaked said the Israeli public had a “right to know when foreign governments are involved in the domestic matters of another country”.
Israel’s government has renewed planning for a controversial settlement in the occupied West Bank only a year after it was forced to suspend its expansion, according to Israeli activists.
It is also likely to further strain relations between Israel and the EU.

“If the minister of justice is truly interested in transparency, she must first and foremost promote legislation requiring right-wing organizations to expose the millions they receive from private donors overseas and from the state budget”, said Peace Now, a group opposing Israeli settlement construction on occupied lands claimed by the Palestinians.
