Police say the circumstances of the shooting are unclear – whether or not it is connected to the recent attacks by Palestinians on Israelis.

One of those killed was identified by his father as Alon Bakal, a law and business student who was a manager at Simta, the pub targeted, with police naming the second as Shimon Ruimi from southern Israel.
On the sidewalk in front of the bar, a glass bus station shelter was shattered by a bullet.
Four victims remained in serious condition Friday afternoon while three were in moderate condition and an eighth slightly injured, the Jerusalem Post, Israel’s leading English newspaper, reported.
A gunman opened fire at a popular bar in Tel Aviv, Israel on Friday, killing two and wounding at least three others before fleeing the scene, police said. A pair of tourists stared at the scene bewildered. A woman working in the store declined to comment. “I wanted to tell you that we lose our good children… he was not a usual child”, he said at a Tel Aviv hospital.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called the spate of attacks, starting in October 2015, a “wave of terror”.
“I got a flashback”, he said.
As the sun set, a few bikers rode on Dizengoff as police vehicles drove back and forth.
Osnat David, who owns a hair salon near the pub, said she was outside smoking a cigarette just two minutes before the attack began. A gag order prevented the naming of the suspect.
Two Israeli nationals were killed, Rosenfeld said. “He has received treatment. Recently he has been going around in the street as an insane person”.
Israeli police were trying to determine if the gunman had any links to terrorist groups or had radical tendencies – while family members of the suspect appeared on local television, saying he had a history of mental illness.
Arabs, the majority of them Muslim, make up 20 percent of Israel’s population.
Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi said in an audio message Sunday, Dec. 27, that ISIS had not forgotten the Palestinians and Israel would soon hear the steps of approaching jihadists.

Furthermore, the first response to the attack came from Lebanon, in the form of celebratory gunfire and jubilation at the Palestinian Ain Hilwa refugee camp, most parts of which have been taken over by jihadist organizations linked to the Islamic State.
