The agency says the young settler activists are part of a fringe group suspected of arson attacks on Palestinian property in order to bring about religious “redemption”, extremists who say God, and not Israeli law is sovereign.
Israeli police have opened an investigation into the wedding of two right-wing Israelis after video footage from the event showed violent incitement by the attendees for the murder of Palestinians.
No one has been charged in the deaths, although several suspects have been taken into custody in the case.

Israeli police later announced they were investigating people appearing in the video for “numerous and serious offences”, including for being careless with their weapons. But it is both important and instructive to place them side-by-side, not because they are mirror images of each other, but because they reveal key differences between how Israeli and Palestinian societies respond to extremism. Later, in another incident, the military said a Palestinian was shot and killed after he rammed his auto into soldiers, wounded one lightly.
