In Thursday’s violence, the military said a Palestinian attacker got out of a vehicle and opened fire near the West Bank village of Hizme, on Jerusalem’s northern outskirts.

The assailant “stabbed a policeman, leaving him injured”, a police statement said, adding the victim’s wounds to the hand were not life threatening.

The bloodshed was the latest incident in over two months of nearly daily Palestinian attacks.

“I have a real question as to whether or not both sides want to make it”, said the Republican contender and billionaire real estate mogul, noting that he has more concern about the Palestinian side’s intentions.

Palestinian Media Watch noted that while praising Palestinian attacks against Israeli civilians Abbas made a point of condemning recent terrorist attacks in France, Lebanon and Jordan and the downing of a Russian passenger plane in Egypt.

Such demolitions, heavily criticised by rights groups, have regularly resulted in clashes between Israeli security forces and Palestinians.

Since October 1, a total of 112 Palestinians have been killed along with 21 Israelis, an American, and an Eritrean. “In response forces on site fired at the assailant”. Price-tag attacks are violent acts carried out by settlers against Palestinians in retaliation for moves by the Israeli government they perceive as harming settler interests, according to B’Tselem.

“Instead of standing up to those who single out Israel, the Obama Administration takes the path of least resistance”, Rubio said.

Palestinian health ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra told AFP the two wounded were in moderate condition.

The arson attack in July took place in the West Bank village of Duma where assailants, believed to be Jewish extremists, lobbed a firebomb during the night into the Dawabsheh family’s home, where four family members were asleep.
