In the third knife attack in Jerusalem in less than a week, a young Palestinian woman stabbed an Israeli on Wednesday near that contested site and was then shot by the injured man.

On Wednesday, stabbings occurred outside a crowded mall in central Israel, in a southern Israeli town and in the Old City of Jerusalem.
Earlier, another Palestinian was shot dead after stabbing an Israeli soldier and injuring four others in the Israeli city Tel Aviv.
Hundreds of Palestinians have been wounded and two shot dead, including a 13-year-old boy, in clashes with Israeli forces in the West Bank over the same period. He was shot and killed by another soldier while attempting to flee, a police spokeswoman said.
At a news conference Thursday night broadcast nationally, Netanyahu said the past two days of terror attacks throughout the country were a direct result of incitement by those entities as well as neighboring Arab states and the Islamic movement in Israel.
But despite tough talk about using “every measure necessary” to fight Palestinian attackers, Mr Netanyahu has this week made it clear that Israel is not embarking on another large-scale security operation.
A report by the Associated Press (AP), which cited an official, said that Netanyahu, who claimed Monday that the site was a focal point in the ongoing unrest in the region, announced the ban because he was anxious that any further visits could ignite more violence. Netanyahu has beefed up military presence in Jerusalem and the West Bank, while Jerusalem’s mayor has urged those with gun licenses to carry their weapons. One upshot of the fraying relationship between the two sides is diminished cooperation between Israeli and Palestinian security forces, which has been a keystone of limiting violence throughout the years.
In the latest attack in the West Bank settlement of Kiryat Arba, one person was seriously injured and evacuated to a hospital in Jerusalem, according to relief agency Magen David Adom (MDA).
With the attacks spilling into the Israeli heartland, Netanyahu has warned Israelis to be on guard.
“In retrospect, we can see that statistically the neutralization of terrorists was often done by capable people who weren’t necessarily policemen”, said Barkat, explaining his call for “weapon owners who know how to use them should carry them”.
New metal detector erected by Israeli police in Jerusalem’s Old City. He says he is committed to “peaceful popular resistance” though he backs protesters who recently barricaded themselves inside Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa mosque and clashed with Israeli police.
But the violence has spread beyond Jerusalem and the West Bank, the historical hot spots.

Testimony given by Israeli security officials in the past confirms that undercover officers are often used by Israel’s armed forces when trying to infiltrate Palestinian protests. “Gaza is fully ready”, he added, saying all Palestinians should defend the Aqsa mosque compound in Jerusalem, the focus of tension with Israel.
