The Military Police officially launched their investigation on Saturday, and the soldier was first brought in for questioning on Sunday and will likely be interrogated again in the coming days.

An army spokesperson told the Ma’an News Agency that soldiers shot a “suspect” who was running toward them.

In Jenin, north of the West Bank, Israeli troops broke into Jenin refugee camp and detained two local Palestinians, identified as Mohammad Othman and Ramzi Qenniri.

Dozens of Palestinians were fatally wounded during protests or army raids.

On Wednesday, 24-year-old Sari Abu Ghurab was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers in the northern West Bank who claimed that they had pursued a auto from which rocks were being thrown at passing vehicles, hitting the windshield of a military jeep.

There has been worldwide criticism over Israel’s treatment of the attackers, with allegations that Israeli forces sometime killed attackers who no longer posed a threat.

“It is the summer and it’s Ramadan, people leave the village to go to the pool in Beit Sira, they were coming back between 1:15am and 1:30am and suddenly Israeli forces started shooting at their auto”. The alert was cancelled on Friday morning.

The Nablus office of the PPS, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, said the soldiers invaded the towns of Burin, Madama, Beita and Huwwara, south of Nablus, searched and ransacked many homes and kidnapped three Palestinians.
