Israeli troops kill three Palestinians in West Bank, Gaza flare-ups
Israeli military forces have killed three more Palestinians amid simmering tensions in the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

The violence spread to the Gaza Strip, controlled by Islamist group Hamas, where Palestinians massed at the fenced-off border with Israel on Friday, throwing rocks at troops beyond.
Hundreds of mourners gathered Friday to bury Oday Ersheid next to his sister, Dania, who was killed in October after Israeli authorities said the 17-year-old pulled out a knife and screamed at Israeli troops, who opened fire.
In one of the incidents on Friday, a Palestinian protester lost his life during clashes with Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank city of al-Khalil (Hebron).
Two deaths came during protests, while another man was killed after allegedly trying to ram Israeli soldiers with a vehicle. At least 112 Palestinians have died by Israeli fire; while the others died in clashes with security forces, 75 of them said by Israel to be attackers.
The Palestinian health ministry said Sami Maadi, 41, died in the incident, east of the Al-Bureij refugee camp.
Clashes also erupted near Ramallah in Silwad, and in Bethlehem, where police were bombarded with stones.
The army said that, during “routine activity in Ramallah”, troops were attacked and responded with “riot dispersal means”.
They also fired rubber-coated steel bullets, sponge-tipped bullets and gas bombs, targeting Palestinian journalists, wounding Palestine TV reporter Raghda Atma, while many journalists suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation.
On the same day, another Palestinian was shot and injured by Israeli soldiers after he allegedly opened fire at the troops at the Gilboa crossing near Jenin. Ersheid is the brother of high school student Dania Ersheid, who was shot dead by Israeli border police in late October in Hebron.
About an hour beforehand, a Palestinian fired at Israeli forces at a crossing between the northern West Bank and Israel and was shot and wounded, the Israeli defence ministry said. The suspect was identified by the military as Mahmad Abd El Halim Abd El Hamid Salam.
Clashes: Israel blames incitement by political and religious leaders for the violence. The Shin Bet intelligence agency said Salam is a member of Hamas from the West Bank village of Luban and that he admitted to carrying out the attack.
The mother of Uday Jihad Irshaid, a 22-year-old Palestinian man who was killed during clashes with Israeli security forces in the West Bank city of Hebron, mourns during his funeral in Hebron on December 11, 2015.
