It added that shortly afterward the first attack, a Palestinian was shot while he tried to stab soldiers near Hebron.

A military spokeswoman told AFP all three were killed.

The army says the attack took place on Thursday evening at the Gush Etzion junction near Jerusalem. The ma was later named as 16-year-old Khalil Shalalda, also from Sair.

Three Palestinians, brothers Ahmed and Mohammed Kawasbeh and their cousin Ala Kawasbeh, were shot dead by Israeli soldiers at an Israeli checkpoint in the occupied West Bank near the city of Hebron.

The circumstances of several Palestinian deaths have been disputed, with investigations by rights groups into a number of cases concluding that Israeli forces were implementing extrajudicial executions against Palestinians who posed no threat at the time of their death.

The Israeli military also destroyed a mosque in the Palestinian village of Rakhama in Negev desert.

Last week, Israel transferred to Palestinian control the corpses of dozens of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces during recent stabbings, shootings or auto attacks against Israelis.
