Im scared to death of everyone, said Hani Abu Haikal, who sells coffee on the street in the market of old Hebron but lives at the edge of the Jewish settlements.

Hebron, the largest Palestinian city in the West Bank, has witnessed daily clashes between Palestinian youth – protesting Israel’s occupation – and Israeli forces.

Karzen said he was warming chicken soup on his stove last week when rounds from an automatic rifle struck his building.

The shots were fired from a distance as Jewish worshippers left after prayers linked to Sarah, the matriarch believed to be buried at the site.

“They both apparently knew they were being searched for by Israeli intelligence and realized it would be better to turn themselves in to the Palestinian forces”, Ynet quoted security sources as saying. Social media is also being combed for posts promoting violence. “However, the object handled by the soldiers was a communications device”, a spokeswoman said.

That first-person reference led one commenter on the page to say, “It appears that this page is actually run by Israeli left-wingers in the PLO’s name”.

“Hopefully this will calm down”.

It all started with Israel trying to change the “status quo” of the Al-Aqsa Mosque (Haram al-Sharif) – the third holiest site for Muslims, after Mecca and Medina, situated within the walled city of Jerusalem.

This photo shows the body of a Palestinian woman shot dead by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank. “There is no way she wanted to run over soldiers”.

Israel’s Shin Bet internal security agency said they had arrested overnight a 16-year-old Palestinian from Bani Naim village east of Hebron, who admitted carrying out the Beit Anon shooting and handed over the rifle he used.

Hebron has been a focal point in the continuing unrest. The city is divided into three spheres of control – including full Palestinian Authority administration, joint administration between Israeli military forces and PA police, and full Israeli control.

The meeting will be centred on U.S. defence aid to Israel following the July nuclear accord between major powers and Iran, but the recent Israeli-Palestinian violence is also expected to be discussed.

The Israeli military denied the accusation. He is a resident of the Immanuel settlement in the West Bank. Tensions have been running high in Hebron, where hundreds of combat troops guard about 850 Jewish settlers in the downtown area where they live amid tens of thousands of Palestinians. The IDF prevented a fourth attack by shooting a terrorist dead.
