IT News: Intel president Renée James leaving firm in management reshuffle
She was named Intel’s president in 2013, at the same time that Brian Krzanich became chief executive.

Intel CEO Brian Krzanich said in his own letter to employees that James will be focusing on transferring key relationships and helping to reallocate her functions and initiatives.
Intel’s Intel’s most powerful female executive (and #45 on our Most Powerful Women list) is departing for greener pastures. She earned a degree in Bachelor of Arts/Science and later on, an MBA from the University of Oregon. Intel’s move, considered by some as a stroke of genius, was designed to help China build an indigenous mobile force – via Spreadtrum/RDA – so that Chinese OEMs and white box vendors will have an alternative to Qualcomm. Vice Presidents Hermann Eula and Michael Bell will also leave the company, Intel said.
Since Dadi lost to Krzanich, he chose to look for a job elsewhere. This mainly involves changes in the reporting line, which concerns The Technology and Manufacturing Group, Human Resources and the country presidents. As the transition is now complete, Eul will pursue opportunities outside of Intel when his contract expires in 2016.
Renée James’ resignation came amid several major management changes that the chipmaker company Intel announced Thursday.
The company’s McAfee Divison will be absorbed into an Intel Security Group under the group’s general manager Chris Young. He is responsible for expanding the power of Moore’s Law into entirely new categories.
The second to depart is Arvind Sodhani, President of Intel Capital, who will retire in January after a distinguished 35-year career with the company. Mergers and acquisitions head Wendell Brooks will replace him.
Renee James, Intel’s president and the company’s No. 2 executive, is stepping down, the company announced Thursday morning. “You are in good hands”.
“I have been a financial investor all my professional life, and that will most likely not change”, Sodhani said.

She did not say which company she plans to lead once she parts ways with Chipzilla, but she is currently a non-executive director of Vodafone group and in the past she served a six-year stint on the board of VMware.
