The baby was born at a suburban hospital late evening where Shahid had been by Mira’s side since the time she was admitted.

As soon as the news broke, the proud father took to his micro-blogging account to share the news with his friends and fans. After Shahid shared the news, Riteish Deshmukh, Alia Bhatt, Anushka Sharma and other celebrities congratulated the new parents. He tweeted: “She has arrived and words fall short to express our happiness. Thank you for all your wishes”, he wrote.
On the sidelines of the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week Winter-Festive 2016, actress Jacqueline Fernandez said: “I would like to congratulate Mira and Shahid for the new addition to their family”. Nothing more precious than a baby girl. What’s even more awesome are some really heartfelt tweets by people who celebrated the arrival of a baby girl calling her Lakshmi! Needless to say the baby’s arrival has brought huge cheer to the entire Kapoor family. “Love and blessings to the little one”, he posted.
