Former Bologna man Emanuele Giaccherini is close to becoming a player of Napoli.

The Sunderland midfielder has undergone a medical today and, while the formalities of the move are still to be completed, there are unlikely to be any last-minute hitches in his £1.5m move.
Giaccherini will sign a three-year contract in Naples and Sunderland are willing to let the playmaker go for a low price because he only has 12 months remaining on his contract at the Stadium of Light.
“I have joined an important and prestigious club”, Giaccherini commented on his move.
“I can’t wait for my adventure with Napoli to begin”.
His agent had revealed earlier, that the player’s dream was a move to Chelsea, given Conte’s new role.
“The 31-year-old joined Sunderland from Juventus in 2013 and has since made 43 appearances, scoring five goals, for the Black Cats”.
He played for Bologna last season before shining at Euro 2016, and it now appears a permanent return to Italy is on the cards.

Giaccherini had previously been linked to Torino and Valcareggi confirmed talks with the club occurred before Napoli swooped and offered Champions League football.
