The Gilmore Girls follow-up movies are officially cleared for production after securing six cast members from the original series, led by stars Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham.

While Netflix is not commenting on the structure of the show or the episodic order, sources tell Variety the revival will be comprised of four separate 90-minute installments, rather than a typical television series, as previously reported.
The tweet then references Netflix and Gilmore Girls, which was created by Amy Sherman-Palladino.
The comedy-drama set in the fictional town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut, ran for seven seasons from 2000 to 2007 on the WB and CW.
After much speculation, Netflix has confirmed its plans to revive the beloved family dramedy.
The streaming service took to Twitter to reassure fans that the show was on its way back, but did not reveal further details about the number of episodes or when it would be released. Netflix also confirmed that Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino would be writing and directing all episodes in the final season.
Scott Patterson (Luke) and Kelly Bishop (Emily) are all back, plus Sean Gunn (Kirk) and Keiko Agena (Lane), Netflix said late Friday.
It will be produced by Warner Bros.
