It’s Star Wars Day: May the 4th be with you

So in keeping with the celebrations, we offer some of our favorite stories about the series, the stuff and the latest film, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. One of the earliest known references to the day followed the May 4, 1979, election of Margaret Thatcher as Britain’s prime minister, according to a post on the official Star Wars website.

We Star Wars fans, sci-fi enthusiasts, and just nerds in general do this kind of thing every year, multiple times a year if we’re being perfectly honest, but over the course of the last year, this day has come to mean even more to us. Fans at Celebrations experience four days filled with engaging entertainment, celebrity appearances, stage shows, panels, interactive events, special shopping, screenings and exclusive Star Wars sneak peeks into the future of the epic saga. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games, The LEGO Group and Lucasfilm have released a new trailer for their upcoming “LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens” video game.

There’s something for everyone at Star Wars Celebrations.

Fans also took to social media to share pictures of “Star Wars”-themed artwork, cupcakes as well as toast cut in the shape some of the movies’ characters”.

Star Wars Celebrations are produced by Lucasfilm with the collaboration of ReedPOP, the largest producer of pop culture events in the world.
