It’s time for No. 1 pick Fultz to turn 76ers into winners
The LA Lakers followed up by taking the much talked about UCLA guard Lonzo Ball. “I’ve got a lot of respect for a lot of people – MJ (Michael Jordan and) everybody – but that’s something I’m going to work for every day”.

The first seven players chosen in the NBA Draft on Thursday night were freshmen.
“I think it’s ambitious”, Brown said of the idea of Embiid and Simmons not having any restrictions on their playing time this season as a health precaution. He is clearly excited to make his dream come true, but as he goes on to explain, he equally as excited to be a 76er – something that has been rare to find over the past few seasons.
The good news for Tissot is that they got way more media attention out of a botched ad than they would have out of a well-executed post.
Fultz, Simmons and another recent Sixers high draft pick, Joel Embiid, form a promising young trio that could allow Philadelphia to rise from the lower depths of the league.
Embiid showed promise in his first National Basketball Association action last season, averaging 20.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 2.1 assists, but was limited to 31 games due to a meniscus tear in his left knee.
Ball was taken by the Lakers, while Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics), Josh Jackson (Phoenix Suns) and De’Aaron Fox (Sacramento Kings) rounded out the top five. But while it’s fortunate that Fultz found a city that has Chick-fil-A, it seems that he found a team who fits with him.
The Sixers have a great opportunity to fill Philadelphia’s gaping sports void, to not only reward long-suffering fans who were loyal to the the team throughout the tenure of former general manager Sam Hinkie and what he called “The Process”, but to bring new fans onboard as well.
The odds were against the Lakers keeping their 2017 first-round pick, let alone landing the No. 2 overall selection, yet the basketball gods smiled upon Los Angeles.
There is a chance that none of those second rounders even make the roster, but the front office has made sure that Stevens will have more quality shooting to try and use this off season.
Tatum, who just completed his freshman year, averaged 16.8 points and 7.3 rebounds in 29 games for the Blue Devils.
Teams are assigned picks largely based on their win record in the previous season. Nine of the first 10 selections played just one season of college ball.
French point guard Frank Ntilikina (tee-lih-KEE’-nuh) went to the Knicks with the eighth choice before Dallas landed North Carolina State guard Dennis Smith at No. 9. Dunn is coming off an atrocious rookie season, during which he averaged 3.8 points.

Fultz also showed that he can play off the ball and create his own shot. Fultz led the Pac-12 in scoring, finished No. 6 among all Division I players, and was the top freshman scorer in the country. Brooklyn picked Jarrett Allen out of Texas at No. 22, Toronto picked IN forward OG Anunoby with the 23rd pick and Utah picked Syracuse’s Tyler Lydon at No. 24 though he was traded to Denver.
