Italy legend issues warning for Antonio Conte as Chelsea boss faces backlash

If Italy reach the final of Euro 2016 on July 10, Conte will have little more than a month to prepare for the Premier League season starting on August 13.

Conte, who was named as Chelsea’s next manager on Monday, did not attend the hearing.

The transfer reports have already started and one Blues fan is sat reading the latest news on his tablet when he spots an article in Gazzetta World, who are claiming that Conte wants Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain to spearhead his attack next season.

The 46-year-old will take up his role after managing Italy in this summer’s European Championships, but he has big decisions to make beforehand.

An Italian court on Tuesday called for new Chelsea coach Antonio Conte to receive a six-month suspended prison sentence over match-fixing allegations.

The Coach is accused of failing to report match-fixing in a game between Albinoleffe and Siena in Serie B in the 2011, something he has always denied.

If the judge decides to convict, Conte would have the option of appealing to the Court of Appeal, then the Court of Cassation.

Antonio Conte won three consecutive Serie A titles at Juventus before taking the Italy job.

Today the prosecutor in the case, Roberto di Martino, requested that Conte be handed a six-month jail term, with conditional suspended sentence, as well as a fine of €8,000.

Conte would definitely need heavy attacking force and tough defence to kick off his era at Stamford Bridge if he is to regain Chelsea’s lost pride.
