WDIO-TV (http://bit.ly/1h6MO98) reports Adam Schneider, 31, was identified by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner.
Deputies responded to a disturbance call on the 400 block of Second St. NW in Cohasset at 2:49 a.m. on Saturday and found Schneider outside holding a shotgun.
They say he ignored orders to put the gun down and then pointed it at deputies. Sheriff’s officers say the person threatened deputies and a deputy shot him.
The man was transported to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital, where he died.
Authorities are withholding his name, and the name of the Deputy until the BCA has more information on the incident.
The Minnesota Bureau of Felony Apprehension is investigating. He is on standard administrative leave.
